St. Elizabeth Council delivers Coats for Kids 2014

On November 9th, the St. Elizabeth Council participated in the Knights of Columbus annual Coats for Kids program for the second straight year.  As part of our annual budgeting process, we approved funds to purchase two dozen new coats – one set for boys and another for girls to “seed” the annual winter coat and clothing drive at St. Elizabeth Church.

That drive is sponsored by the St. Elizabeth Youth Ministry – and also primarily benefits the youth and children in the Langley Park area of Maryland – where our parish focuses much of its local outreach and charitable efforts including monthly food bank drives and this clothing collection.

The two boxes of coats purchased by the Council through the Coats for Kids programs are packed and ready to go – along with some free advertising.

Grand Knight Dave Crum manned the parish coat collection table at the early Sunday Mass – and hand delivered the Council’s donation to the St. Elizabeth Church.

The Council received this note of thanks from the parish sponsor:

Many thanks to you and your fellow Knights for the very generous donation of new boy’s and girl’s winter jackets.  There will be a lot of smiling faces when the clothes are distributed in Langley Park next Sunday. Also thanks for  covering this morning’s early Mass.

Vivat Jesus,

Dave Crum, GK
