“Help a Child in Need” Program

From Terry Waters (tewaters@cokecce.com)

One of our Maryland State Pro-Life Committee goals this fraternal year involves building momentum and excitement behind a program created and launched last year- right here in Maryland. This program called “Help a Child in Need,” is unique in that it is designed specifically to support area pregnancy centers and food banks that too often find themselves in desperate need of baby food and baby supplies. And the good news is that this program not only is extremely simple to execute, but it also delivers an immediate positive impact on those it intends to support.

Overview

Children are the most vulnerable members of our society and too often are the ones who suffer
when families struggle financially to make ends meet. In fact, many food banks and pregnancy
centers throughout Maryland frequently experience shortages of baby food and supplies and often
must resort to making urgent community-wide requests simply to keep up with the high demand for
these items. The Knights’ “Help a Child in Need” Program is designed to answer that call and
involves the collection of baby supplies in a way that is extremely simple, rewarding, and highly
effective!
