District Deputy Newsletter June 2012

Worthy Brothers All,

With the new Columbian year only weeks away, I extend my best wishes to Wes Chin, our District Deputy-elect and Kevin Kitka, his District Warden-elect. District 18 is in good hands with their expertise.

I also extend my thanks and gratitude to the Grand Knights, their ladies, officers, and brother knights who have served their councils for the past two years. District 18 earned the distinction of Star District last year on the prayers, efforts, and hard work of many knights. This year, our district’s numbers are even more impressive with two councils earning Star Council. We met 150% of our district recruitment goal and 110% of our insurance goal—the best showing of any district in the State of Maryland–even better than we did last year.

You know how hard you and your fellow knights have worked. You know that you are a visible presence in Montgomery County. You know the lives you have changed because you said “Yes,” when you were asked to become a member of the Knights of Columbus.

We have challenges before us this next year. Our bishops, pastors, and fellow Catholics look to us as men who represent charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. We can give them nothing less than our best.

Vivat Jesus!

Richard Earenfight
District Deputy 18
