District Deputy Newsletter January 2012

Worthy Brothers All,

During the quiet, dark days of January, we are fully alive! At our mid-point of the year, we are at our busiest. Mark your calendars for the March for Life this month.  Many of the councils in our district have supported those who come to march, whether it’s providing a place to sleep for marchers to preparing meals or participating in the march.

The State Mid-Term meeting also occurs on Saturday, January 7. The Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight are asked to attend the meeting at Cardinal Gibbons Council in Baltimore as we look at the first six months and plan for the second half of the year.

The two most important items that occur this month are the Annual Fraternal Activities form due January 31, and your council credentials sent to our State Secretary Bill Kuchmas.

Our district is also busy with degrees in January. Mater Dei council will be hosting a Second and Third Degree in the second week of January. Contact John Frey, the council Financial Secretary, if you have candidates.

As we begin this year, continue to grow in your faith as well as your commitment to service. If you have not had the opportunity, pick up a copy of Matthew Kelly’s book, Rediscover Catholicism. It is a wonderful spiritual guide.

Be well and do good this year!

Richard Earenfight
District Deputy, District 18
