District Deputy Letter for November

My Brother Knights,

November is a hallowed time for all of us as we enter into the mysteries of life and death. Beginning with the Solemnity of All Saints Day, followed by All Souls Day, we begin with a solemn realization of our mortality whose end is really the beautiful reality of eternal life with our Father and creator. Please do everything you can to attend your council’s memorial Mass this month. The state Memorial Mass will be held at the Bon Secours Spiritual Center in Marriotsville November 21. I will attend and hope to see some of you there.

As if that were not enough, we also have the opportunity to give thanks. How can one month be so blessed with another celebration? Thanksgiving offers us one more time to ponder or Father’s goodness. Please try to attend you local parish Thanksgiving Day Mass. If this has not been a tradition for you and your family, consider making it one. It was a family tradition for me and I have strong, fond memories of the morning spent in prayer thanking God for all our blessings the previous year.

This year we are fortunate enough to have one more celebration! Advent begins November 28th. All in thirty days. What a spiritual blessing.

As the leaves fall and we mark the passing of the seasons, let us keep in mind our call to fraternity and remember our departed brothers and celebrate the fraternity we enjoy as brother knights.

Richard Earenfight
District Warden
